It has been quite silent for a time from our side, but we have been working with developing interfaces between AMPRnet and HSMM/BBHN systems and are still in that process.

We have however come up with a new powerful VPN hub for the SM meshers, both HSMM and BBHN.

The system is based on a 64bit Ubuntu 12.04 running in an virtualized environment, Vmware ESXi. Software has been based upon the HSMM-Pi project, but partly rewritten to suit our needs.

You will be able to connect using WRT models using the already published guide regarding GRE VPN, but make sure to contact me to obtain specific infmration about the hub.

Please look at the attached picture for a small teaser :)

Just to clarify, we have solved the incompatibility issues in OLSR between 0.4.3 and 1.0.0 version of nodes so now they can coexist in same network when connected to the hub.

Take a look at the attached picture. SM7MMJ-1 is 0.4.3 node and SM7I-1 is 1.0.0 node.

As of today our hub is also connected to AMPRnet making it possible for HSMM/BBHN nodes to reach AMPRnet. This was one of our goals when designing this solution and now we have implemented it.

Good evening SM7I, Looks like you and several other hams in your area has got the tunneling down path. Do you have anything in print on how you did it because I would like to set up a tunnel with a fellow node in the next state to me. Any help would be great... Thanks In advance, Steve "W4WWS"

The bbhn beta test team has been testing a packaged server and client tunnel capability integrated in the bbhn setup screens. Darryl K5DLQ is making this happen with contributions from a few of us. We're working through one issue in testing the linksys implementation--ubnt is working well. This is not far off from being made available (a month?) and ultimately part of the bbhn release.

SM7I, let's snyc up separately to exchange an early version and figure out if there are any options to inter-operate? However, this is a vtun implementation.

The reset button should reset it back to root/hsmm

was going to add... if the reset doesn't put it back at hsmm, then a quick TFTP load should do it.

Hi AE6XE,

Sure, no problem. We´re open to all kinds of cooperation over the borders.

Just drop me a mail: sm7i.ham(at)gmail.com and we´ll look into this.
